GROWING SCULPTURE- Work in progress

Much of the work shown is in its very early stages, and several new ‘Growing Sculptures’ are to be planted this autumn. The website will follow the progress of these works over the years.

The ideas on paper are a starting point, but as the plants grow many of the original notions may change as the physical facts of the work present new possibilities and sometimes unforeseen problems.

1 Planting in progress of ‘Yellow is Blue’ at East Kilbride Arts Centre. The word Yellow is planted in bluebells the word blue in daffodils.
2-6 Since 2008 I have been involved with a wood owned by David Long and Siobhan McDermott at Spotiswoode in the Scottish Borders - see examples below.
7-8 I planted a Growing sculpture in 2009 at the Masseria della Zingara, Puglia Italy in Olive trees for Andrew Salmon and Jan King.
